Event - AILEEN League

About the league/competition:

• As the European league (see below) is in English,
  Flemish and Walloon participants are allowed.
  The day will be mainly held in English with slides in Dutch/French.
• Main topics of this league are: 
  • visual inspection
  • non-destructive testing (magnetic testing, penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing)
  • mechanical testing
  • welding symbols
  • weld imperfections.
• The competition will consist out of 20 multiple choice questions in one of the following languages English, Dutch or French.

When: Tuesday 01/04/2025

Where: Zwijnaarde (Ghent) @ Belgium Welding Institute

Program:

12h30-13h00: sandwich lunch

13h00-13h50: training part 1 (mainly in English with Dutch/French slides)

14h00-14h50: training part 2 (mainly in English with Dutch/French slides)

15h00-16h00: multiple choice test (English, Dutch or French)

16h00-17h00: visit to the Belgian Welding Institute (optional)

Who can participate?

• Age: 18-30 years
• Students and young professionals
• Basic to intermediate English level (as the European League will be held in English)
• Knowledge of welding inspection or additive manufacturing (max. 3 years of experience)
• The maximum number of competitors is limited to the first 30 subscriptions

• The 3 best participants will earn their free ticket to the European finals in Oeiras (Lisbon, Portugal)
  • Date: 17-19 September 2025
  • 7 competing countries: Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and United Kingdom
  • Free of charge: all expenses (flight, hotel, food, ...) are paid by the Erasmus+ project (European Union)
  • You will be trained and accompanied in Portugal by an expert of the Belgian Welding Institute.
     
• The 5 best participants of the national league can follow free of charge visual inspection workshop at the Belgian Welding Institute.

Cost:

• This event is free of charge.
• If you come with the public transport, the cost will be reimbursed.
