Intergranular corrosion
To test the intergranular corrosion resistance of a material, following tests can be executed:
- ASTM A262 practice A: etching with oxalic acid
- ASTM A262 practice B (Streicher test): 120h immersion in a solution with FeSO4 and H2SO4
- ASTM A262 practice C (similar to ISO 3651-1, Huey test): 5 times 48h immersion in HNO3
- ASTM A262 practice E (similar to ISO 3651-2 method A, Strauss test): minimum 15h immersion in a solution with Cu, CuSO4 en 16% H2SO4
- ASTM A262 practice F: 120h immersion in a solution with Cu, CuSO4 en 50% H2SO4
