Micro resistance spot welding

Spot welding is a welding process without filler material. The parts to be welded are placed between two electrodes. The parts are locally heated by the electric current and the electrodes apply a force on the weld. This process is very well suited for (electric) conductive steel and stainless steel. Welding of metals such as copper and aluminium and their alloys ask for more attention and care. If the welding machine can handle a sufficiently precise control, there is practically no limit to the weldable thickness. Hence, this process is suitable for welding filters (see figure below).
