Real-time quality monitoring for arc welding processes - Practical information
Project type
The research is a CorNet collective research project. This is a European research type, in which research centres conduct the research for a group of companies, brought together around a particular topic.
International cooperation
This project is a collaboration between the following international partners:
Participation
Companies interested in the technology or the topic can follow this project. A company can participate in the project in 2 ways, active or non-active.
Non-active participation
The company does not bring its own applications for research in the project. The company can follow up the project results through either the semi-annual meetings, or through the progress reports and publications.
Active participation
The company brings in its own application. The feasibility of using the proposed monitoring techniques will be investigated for some of these applications. Here, however, we cannot lose sight of the collective nature of the project; in other words, the chosen applications must be generic and of interest for several participants. As far as possible, we will develop the applications as close as possible to industrial reality, but in some cases simplifications will have to be made in terms of geometry or dimensions.
Practical information
The project has a duration of 2 years, with meetings with the whole group taking place every 6 months. The welding tests, characterisation of joints, metallography, etc. are carried out by the research centres. During the implementation of the research, the participants can make adjustments to the project where necessary so that the results meet the industrial reality.
